The Poldi Pezzoli Museum continues its commitment to bridging the art of the past with contemporary expressions with a new exhibition by Elisa Sighicelli. The exhibition focuses on reinterpreting the Museum’s collection of antique glass, offering a novel and transfiguring perspective on these extraordinary objects.

Through her innovative practice of photography, Elisa Sighicelli explores the materiality and perception of images, transforming the qualities of transparency and liquidity of glass into fantastical entities. The works, created specifically for the Collector’s Room, propose a dreamlike journey in which light becomes the means to deconstruct visual conventions and reveal the poetry hidden in the smallest details.

Dettaglio, Photophores, 2025, archival pigment print, 97 × 147 × 4 cm

This exhibition is part of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum’s program, active since 2011, that involves contemporary artists in reinterpreting masterpieces from the collection. Elisa Sighicelli, with her distinctive approach, continues this dialogue, offering an original contribution that celebrates the evocative power of art and the encounter between different eras.
