Clocks Experience

Maximum 20 people | during the opening hours

First part (about half an hour): guided tour with brief introduction to the museum and clock room by our educational services.

Part Two (approx. 1 hour): in-depth study of clocks with the curator of the collection, Lavinia Galli, and the restorer in charge; exclusive history of the evolution of clock mechanics; before your eyes will be opened and explained the workings of ten mechanisms from the 16th to the 19th century, with the opportunity to observe the rare specimens up close outside the display cases and answering all your questions.

Library Experience

Maximum 20 people | during the opening hours

First part (about half an hour): guided tour with brief introduction to the museum by our educational services.

Part Two (approx. 1 hour): in-depth look at the history of publishing and typography with the curator of the collection, Lavinia Galli, followed by an exclusive opportunity to view some of the earliest printed volumes, including the editio princeps of Aldo Manuzio, the first paperbacks printed in Venice in the early 16th century with elegant Latin and Greek typefaces, to the 18th-century luxury editions embellished with full-page engraved illustrations.

Auroseric-Renaissance Fabrics Experience

Maximum 20 people | during the opening hours

First part (about half an hour): guided tour with brief introduction to the museum by our educational services.

Part Two (about 1 hour): in-depth study of one of the Museum’s carpets with the curator of the collection, Federica Manoli, followed by an exclusive opportunity to study and observe the carpets through scientific magnifying and microscope lenses.

Works without glass and restoration Experience

Maximum 10 people | Museum closed

First part (about half an hour): guided tour with brief introduction to the museum by our educational services.

Part Two (about 1 hour): exclusive opportunity to view without protective glass the Portrait of a Young Lady by Antonio del Pollaiolo and the Pietà by Giovanni Bellini accompanied by the Museum’s Collection Manager, Federica Manoli. Visitors will be given special viewers so that they can observe these two masterpieces of the Museum in the smallest detail. They will also be given information about the restorations of these works by the restorer(s) in charge of the operations.

Poldi Pezzoli Museum

Museo Poldi Pezzoli in the centre of Milan, close to the Duomo Cathedral and the Scala Theatre, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum welcomes you! Opened in 1881, it was the house of the noble Milanese Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli (1822-1879). Avid art collector, he had gathered here paintings as well as sculptures, carpets, laces, arms and armour, jewellery, clocks, porcelain and glass.
