Scrigno. Small stories of masterpieces

Throughout his life, Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli collected beautiful art objects and transformed his house on Milan’s Via Manzoni into a treasure chest that, according to his wishes, was opened to the public. Even today, thanks to the many donations, the house museum continues to live and evolve. And now, through four themed audio tours it reveals the stories behind its treasures. The narration of the itineraries is entrusted to some of the voices of Chora Media: Luca Bizzarri, Mario Calabresi, Francesca Milano, Sara Poma.

The animated video, created by the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, in collaboration with Fondazione Ravasi Garzanti, as a cultural partner, shapes a story in fragments in which historical images set the stage for a “walk” through the Museum’s halls.

In this video, the story of the restoration of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum’s Tiger Carpet. The carpet was purchased by Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli in 1855 and is considered one of the masterpieces of Persian textile art; it retains its original vibrant colors.
