Friends of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum
The Friends of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum Association ETS is a nonprofit voluntary cultural association, founded in 1960 on the initiative of a willing group of Milanese, with the aim of supporting the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in all its artistic and institutional activities.
In the spirit of the will of Noble Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli, founder of the Museum, its purpose is the education and dissemination of expressions of art and culture as well as the protection, promotion and enhancement of things of artistic and historical interest. In particular, the Association aims to encourage patronage initiatives and support the Poldi Pezzoli Museum and its cultural heritage by increasing the Museum’s art collections, library and archives.
Today it has a large number of members, supporters, benefactors and patrons who are the Museum’s first Ambassadors.
For them, the Association organizes: guided tours to museums, exhibitions, monuments, private collections and entire neighborhoods of Milan; excursions to cities of art, historical sites, private residences and monuments that can be reached in a day trip starting from the city center; and trips in Italy and abroad always to discover history and art, with the constant assistance of a team of highly trained art historians.
As evidence of its constant commitment to the cultural field, in 2014 the Association received the certificate of Civic Merit from the City of Milan. It has been a member of the Italian Federation of Associations of Friends of Museums (FIDAM) since 1978.
