The museum also works to ensure that the deaf community has easy accessibility to the artworks, meeting its specific needs in ways that have been tested and implemented in collaboration with the National Board for the Deaf (ENS).
The Museum is able to meet all the needs of deaf audience. To book guided tours in LIS or with deaf mediators or specially trained guides or with text supports.

Inclusion and accessibility with the National Board of the Deaf
The Poldi PezzoLIS project, supported by IntesaSanpaolo Bank, includes a series of educational activities for the deaf audience, translated into the Italian Sign Language (LIS): virtual guided tours in LIS together with other Italian museum; guided tours; creative workshops held also by deaf people; two videos presenting the museum in LIS with Italian subtitles; and a video guide in LIS for children with Italian subtitles.
People from the Poldi Pezzoli Museum’s Youth Group are also collaborating to the project.
The project has obtained the patronage of the National Board for the Deaf and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.

The visibile restoration of the Lady
The Poldi Pezzoli Museum presents a unique event: the “live” restoration of Piero del Pollaiolo’s Portrait of a Young Woman, one of the collection’s most beloved masterpieces. This is a unique opportunity to take a close look at the restoration stages of one of the museum’s most iconic works, directly inside the exhibition rooms.
